🚨 New Mob Alert: Copper Golems are now in Minecraft!
Learn how to make them in your world and discover how they’re used for item sorting.
Minecraft 1.21.9 – The Copper Age
With the release of Minecraft 1.21.9, players find themselves in The Copper Age! This update introduces us to Copper Golems, used primarily for item sorting. They interact with the world in various ways, including oxidation – meaning if left unattended, they can turn into statues. There’s a lot of things you can do with these little guys, but first you need to know how to make them.
Creating a Copper Golem
- Collect Carved Pumpkins and Copper Blocks in Minecraft.
- Place down the Copper Block, then add the Carved Pumpkin on top.
- Instantly, a Copper Golem will spawn and a Copper Chest.
You may also use Jack o’Lanterns instead of Carved Pumpkins to make a Copper Golem.
Copper Golem Item Sorting
Here’s a quick breakdown for using Copper Golems in Minecraft:
- If empty-handed, the Copper Golem looks for Copper Chests.
- Can pick up any item, up to 16 of a single item type at a time.
- If holding something, it searches for Chests or Trapped Chests.
- Can place items if the chest is empty or already holds the same item type.
- Checks up to 10 chests in sequence when picking up or placing.
- If no valid chest is found, it waits 7 seconds before trying again.
- 32 blocks horizontally, will scan in all directions on the same level.
- 8 blocks vertically, can reach chests above or below within this height.
This system can significantly increase efficiency for mob farms or other needs for organization.
