Overview
When playing on your Terraria server, you may eventually grow bored of the world size and want to either shrink or grow the space you have to work with. Luckily, Terraria has an option to select between 3 world sizes, allowing you to change the size for a new world at any time. Adjusting your Terraria server world size can be tedious if you are unfamiliar with the process, so we have created this Apex Hosting guide to ease you through the setup steps.
Changing the World Size
- Navigate to your Apex Server Panel, then stop the server.
- Proceed to
Customizationson the left-hand side.
- Locate the
World Sizesection near the top. - Adjust the number to one of the following:
- Once this is selected, return to the main panel page.
1 – Small World
2 – Medium World
3 – Large World
Generating a New World
- From the main panel page, scroll down to the
worldsection.
- Press the
Change Worldbutton, then enter a new name. - Press
Change Worldonce more, then restart when prompted.
This will now generate a new world with your selected world size!
Common Issues
The world is the same world I was playing on:
Oftentimes, this means that the world generation was not done correctly, Return to the main panel page, then press the change world button. Ensure that you enter a new, unique name when prompted, then continue until the server restarts. After that, check the world once again.
The world size did not change:
Ensure that you properly adjusted the world size number in the Customizations tab. Once you confirm that the number is what you desire, continue through the steps to generate another world and try once more.
My world changed after following the steps:
This is expected behavior, as the new world size cannot take effect until a new world is generated and used. If you wish to return to your previous world, follow the Generating a New World steps, but change the name back to your original world name. After another restart, your world should return to normal.
